A Reminder of What It Means to Step Up
Happy Independence Day, Twinsburg!
Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation—a bold act of courage and conviction. On July 4, 1776, a group of ordinary citizens made an extraordinary decision. They signed their names to a document that would change the course of history—not knowing what would come next, but knowing it was time to step up.
Last night, Breanne and I had the chance to see Hamilton (musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda) at Playhouse Square. As the story unfolded on stage, I found myself reflecting not only on the bravery of our nation’s founders, but also on the spirit of service that carries through to today.
Running for City Council isn’t about politics to me—it’s about people. It’s about showing up, speaking up, and putting in the work for something bigger than yourself. It’s about listening and leading… knowing that real change happens when neighbors step forward and get involved.
That’s what makes our country great—and what makes our community strong.
Twinsburg is a city with heart, history, and potential. And just like the signers of the Declaration, I believe progress starts when someone says, “I’ll take the first step.” That’s what inspired me to run.
So this Fourth of July, as we enjoy fireworks, parades, and time with loved ones, let’s also reflect on the power of ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things.
Here’s to freedom.
Here’s to community.
Here’s to all of us doing our part.
Happy Independence Day, Twinsburg!
